I think the answer to that question was 0.16Kg at least that is what I got.

did anyone get the mass of water? I think we were supposed to equate the specific heat capacity equation and the latent heat. I just settled with 0.2kg
Although i didnt get the 5 marker due to one maths error here is the answer+working out:
E=ml+mco
5530=(m x 334000)+(m x 15 x 2260)
5530= 334000m+33900m
5530=367900m
5530/367900=m
m=0.15/0.16 i dont remember the exact values for the question but it is either one

What i did was at 5530= 334000m + 33900m i divided 5530 by 334000 and then 33900 like an idiot, and my entire page was working out so i hope the examiner actually marks my paper for doing some working out.

i did some weird stuff and ended up with 8*10^-3 but i have no idea
I got 120 Ohms, did you multiply the charge by 4? I think you were meant to do 0.004

What did you guys put for the last question? That one put me off a little. I think i ended up linking it to the latent heat of water and dividing the energy by the amount of time, which was 300 seconds (5 mins) to get the power in watts. But i don't know if it was right...
Im really pleased with how the paper went tbh, the only question I struggled on was specific heat capacity question

Same, I'm so glad there were so many maths questions bc I'm hopeless at actual physics questions

Hmmm, expected more positive reactions... I feel like I'll get over 95%, but maths is my forte after all and there was plenty of that haha.

yes 300 mate
Yep- I got 120 Ohms aswell

The answer was 120 ohms 100%
What did people get for the mass of the ice cube? I got like 0.019kg but have no idea...
same

Original post by Pranay0121
i got 2.5
Original post by Pranay0121
i got 2.5

Same
I got 0.0175 then somehow got 5.5x10'-9 or something from the shc equation.

I also got 2.5 for something,
0.000000009 for something and
0.174 for the first page question and
12.5 for a temperature and
im pretty sure for the alpha radiation i said what contamination is then linked itt o how Alpha is highly ionising and that it mutates cells causing cancerous cells
And 50HZ
And for teh 6 marker i did about layers of newspaper and stuff
But that last question wasnt even english to me like how do u go from steam to a bunsen burner.. :/
I did somethiing like that
5530/33400 then 2100 = 0.175 x 15
Then 2100/0.175/15 and got some weird number :/
I used the mass in the shc equation by subsitution but now i regret it cos i forgot i was tryna find the mass but yet i put the mass inside a mass of an equation face palm

ppl out here getting 120 when i got 40,000,000 :frown:

120 ohms is right answer. Convert 4ms to 0.004 seco ds

for the steam one i said:
thermal energy from burner = converted to kinetic in water particle = more collision = increase temperature = evaporates
I got 120

pfft all the bloody equations there are. Also did anyone else get 120,000 ohms for the last 5 marker on working out resistance

I hope so!!

Original post by Vincent Evans
The answer was 120 ohms 100%
Talk about latent heat of vaporisation (e=mL) substitute that into p=e/t
For the specific heat capacity I got 0.01933....... and rounded to 0.02 since the -15 change in going to be -15 so yh the answer must them be 0.0193322314
