I want to find the iron in different cereals by using a redox titration. However, I'm not sure how to make a solution of the cereal I can use in the titration? Any help is appreciated

Digest the cereal samples in a suitable acid, such as nitric acid. If you're doing this experiment for real you need to research the appropriate acid concentration first.
Perform a blank titration with a sample of just the acid, in case there is iron present.

Would I need to filter the solution after the acid is added before I titrate it?

Assuming you have solid remaining (which you probably will), it would be easier if you filter out the solid residue. But thoroughly rinse the residue into the filtrate, using distilled water. This will ensure you wash 'all' the iron ions into the filtrate that you will titrate.
