Edexcel A Level Politics (new spec) - June 2019 Exams (exam discussion)

How is everyone feeling about the upcoming Edexcel A Level Politics exam for the three papers this June. I'm doing Global Politics for paper 3 option. Any thoughts on predicted content, grade boundaries?

Feeling quite worried to be honest and I’m top of my class

So scared as it's all dependent on the exams, but the optional questions are my saving grace. I'm also doing global! Seems like most people are doing US, and there is so little resources for global.

Pretty scared about ideologies on paper one, as I'm pretty bad at them, my politics teacher is convinced that socialism will come up, then second most likely liberalism, then least conservatism as that was on the spec.
Ideologies are difficult you have to know tons, as long as you work hard on essays and try to get a few Marks you should be okay
Really regret picking politics , there’s so much content I’m currently on A’s for psychology and sociology and With all the a levels exam I’ve had so far , I feel very confident , but no matter how I try to revise for politics I’m literally always on a E/D , it’s frustrating because I don’t understand how I can be so good at the other 2 alevels but so bad at politics .
for the ideologies, it should be fine if you know the thinkers and their thoughts on human nature, economy, state society
E.g. for socialism Marx/ Engels, and Luxembourg are all revolutionary socialists
Crosland and Giddens are evolutionary
I made tables for each thinker, might find that helps
depending on the question, sometimes you may want to allocate a para for different aspects of the ideology rather than compare and contrast in a para
I also find ideologies hard, and the mark difference between grades is actual bull, but I think we'll pull through

Yh!! Isn't it a peg at level 2 without key thinkers?

Ughh yh my teacher said that if you don't include 2 or more thinkers, you're pegged at Level 2. I try and include as many as possible but there's no point if they don't link in. I find 3 is the magic number

I struggle more with the 30 markers - I find ideologies much easier? (I feel weird now for saying that lol)

Anybody have any ideas about possible qs that are likely to come up for the 30 marker? Also is it true that socialism is likely to come up?

How would people answer 'evaluate the extent to which parties are effective at promoting political participation'?

Political parties are quite probable to come up due to the size but this one stumped me. I did political education with tv, debates etc, having an effective leader, and then having effective campaigns, all with internal caveats.

Ahh man, that honestly looks like ****. I'd skip it.
I'd probably follow a similar format
maybe talk about Labour's £3 membership
in terms of effective leader, I'd probs mention Thatcher and Blair in there.
The problem with such a question is that politics requires so many case studies; I'd feel so limited answering that
lol ok they're absolutely ****. I'm a Luddite so I do most of my work on paper, sorry. here's all I have, hope it's useful

yh it's an odd question because you don't want to lapse into democratic deficit, etc. I guess you could also link in how they formed Thatcherism and Blairism.

thank you so much
to be honest, I'm really nervous about this exam, there doesn't seem to be a starting point in terms of questions and predictions. there seems to be an unlimited amount of possible content. Just not ready for this at all.
