is this globalisation? if so, an example of a switched off place would be North Korea and the fact that the country is politically isolated from the rest of the world since they solely pursue their own state ideologies. Whereas a switched on country tends to be in developed countries where they have more openness in governance and are more receptive to new ideas rather than a country like China who restricts the population's access to social media news etc...

basically if country is switched on then they are more connected to the world, have higher standard or living, easy travel routs and I they are switched off then their are economically struggling, not connected with the whole world, technological issues, lack of travel routs, inaccessibility.
therefore if a country is highly developed then they are more likely to be switched on mainly because they have higher standard o living, have travel routs and are connected and vice versa if they are developing
hope this helped

i think your right. things that have never come up in the paper in terms of regeneration:
*evaluating need for regeneration
*govt policy decision plays key role in regeneration
*local govt policy decision plays key role in regeneration
*different urban stakeholders

Watch a chap called Ali Abdal who is a medical student - he posts stuff about revising on YouTube. When I went to my uni open day they suggested this technique where you write down all you know about a topic in one colour (Mind map, notes) and then write anything else in another colour. Then revise the stuff you DONT know. It’s fast and effective! Flash cards are great but make your own defo. Hope that helps - I’m ******** myself for the next exam too!

watch as many news as you can....the more synoptic you are the better...make sure you have up to date knowledge about recent news related to your units such as superpowers.
I don't think the optional units will come up not every one did the same option as you but I might be wrong

you can talk about a variety of things in here such as:
*if the area is in a spiral of decline
*is there conflict between certain groups in the area
*how successful the area is in terms of economic and social inequalities
*is there a urban or rural decline
*is the area connected to other regions (locally/nationally/internationally)
*level of engagement in the area
*are certain factors impacting lived experience and level of engagement

when answering the question talk about the factors rank the factors that is most significant in terms of need for regeneration and give case studies as well

thank you, so for example
I would say
one reason why regeneration is needed is due to spiral of decline
for example Detroit and explain this in detail
however , the level of engagement may also be a factor and explain this
another reason could be decline in population
on there other hand , the area connectedness and explain this

then give an overall conclusion

would that be okay

Hi guys, I'm a little stuck on the following question, 'Assess the influence of scale when considering the range of influences that have shaped your chosen places' I'm not sure how I would go about answering this, but I do know that I have to talk about my local and contrasting places
