HCA Dilemma

Hey,

I am looking for some advice I was offered a HCA job last week with no start date as of yet but I have received the forms I need to fill out etc and I have given in my documents for a DBS check. However, on Friday I got a uni offer for a course starting in September (I had been previously waiting-listed) a few hours away from home and I am now unsure of what to do regarding the HCA job. Ideally, I would love to start the job and gain experience and earn an income and work as part of the team on the ward. But also my contract requires that I need to give 8 weeks notice to leave and I don't want to start and hand in my notice straight away/there not be enough time to work my notice. I am unsure of what to do, do I inform those at HR or just wait and see how it works out. I feel like I am in a bit of an awkward situation so any advice would be appreciated?
