I am in MYP Grade 10 and a few months back I chose my subjects for next year (IBDP). I have chosen to take IB Chemistry at SL, but I'd like to drop psychology to SL, which means that I will need to bump one of my SL subjects to HL. I feel that Chemistry seems most suitable for me, out of all my other SL subjects, to take at HL, but I'd like to know what differences there are between the SL and HL curriculum.

Thanks!

Does the syllabus not cover the difference between the content studied at standard and higher level?

HL tends to be a bit more math based. A lot of the additional topics involve calculations, whereas SL tends to focus more on the basics
