It's been 7 years, 7 months and 7 days (coincidence? conspiracy?) since I joined TSR but today is my last day. Ask me whatever you like. :blah:
Are you being sacked for your weird political views, which are extreme left even for Brighton folk?

I'm sure you're down the pub already enjoying some well deserved leaving drinks but if you come back to this thread:

-Favourite and least favourite things about working for TSR?

-What advice would you give to young people (GCSE/A-level) age who want to be where you are in 10/15/20 years time?

Good luck. Definitely worth looking for pastures new. I would rather do games as well....
What did you do?

On a scale of 1 to Drupal, which TSR technology will you miss the most?

How does it feel knowing your work will live on for hopefully decades to come? :holmes:
I hope to be an inspiration to future generations of coders looking through my class methods and thinking "WTF is this code doing?"
(Original post by Muttley79)
So who isn't doing their job? What action has been taken?
Mistakes were made.

Awww Dez

Good luck in your new role

What's the best moment(s) you've had on TSR?
Results Day is always a good vibe, and doing the Eurovision threads was really fun too. :music:

Not pub time just yet unfortunately. Soon though I hope.

-Favourite and least favourite things about working for TSR?
Favourite thing is being able to work on interesting/complex projects and build shiny new features using them. The fact that TSR is generally steering away from this sort of endeavour is one of the main reasons I wanted to move on. I can't stand doing dull, boring work.

My advice would be don't let people undervalue you, and don't undervalue your free time. There's plenty to learn and lots of ways you can build a programming career, so it's wise to pick one that you'll get on well with.

Who do you think is the strictest mod?
Me, if I ever used my mod powers. As a dev I can technically bin anything I want, and if I did so the forum would be a lot quieter.
(Original post by TS33)
And who is going to fix the flipping bug that lets annoying people vote in the MHoC Division Lobby? :mad2:
Maybe CrazyKittenLady can fix it.
(Original post by 999tigger)
What did you do?
Built new funky things for TSR, and built a load of not-so-funky things too. Plus bug fixes and writing a lot of tests that never get used properly.
(Original post by 999tigger)
Will you still be posting?
I'll likely pop in from time to time, but I won't be around as much.
(Original post by 999tigger)
When do you start?
Monday. No rest for the wicked.

I'm contractually obliged not to discuss my salary working for TSR. For my next job, see my earlier post.

All the best anyway. The change will be good for you. Does that mean you will be staying in Brighton or will you move to London?

The office is in Brighton so I'm staying put. They hold events up in London occasionally so there'll be trips up there from time to time I expect.

The salary can largely depend upon whether they build Personal Home Pages or favour artisan croissants and handlebar moustaches

Heehee. Digital is ever so fashionable right now. I sometimes take the Hipster Line (Overground) to Shoreditch and it is full of techspeak.
