UCL vs Manchester for Mech Eng Watch
the question is in the title. I have already firmed Manchester for Mechanical Engineering w/ Business Management about a week ago, but I am not slowly starting to regret it. (I could still technically call up UCAS and have it changed) Which would be a better school?
If it matters, I also care about social life a lot and the business (startup-ish) side as well. Prestige doesn't matter to me - I care about the quality!!
Thank you so much, guys.
Engineering reputation: Manchester
UCL is notoriously poor at engineering. Most of their funding is directed to medical research so other STEM fields suffer as a result. Manchester currently excels at physics and produces more engineers than UCL. These engineers go into industry and increase Manchester's credibility with employers.
If you're taking engineering to transition into business or finance when you graduate, go to UCL. If you want to work as an engineer, Manchester will open more doors.
