In the thylakoids where the chloroplasts exist which are responsible for photosynthesis. At the end of electron transport chain when a water molecule is break into two H+ ions, which react with NAPD+ to NAPDH (or make ADP to ATP by the help of ATP synthase), and oxygen. The latter is emitted in the atmosphere by the plants.
