Choice of uni for Computer science

How are Royal Holloway University, Newcastle, Queen University Belfast, Cardiff, Nottingham, Swansea and Sussex in terms of reputation for Computer science and how would you rank them by tier? (I am aiming to do Masters at a top tier uni after)

All pretty equal choices in terms of reputation to be honest. I graduated in Computer Science from Royal Holloway and it was an excellent course. You have a few Russell Groups in there, if that's important to you, it could be a way to split your choices but they're some of the 'lower end' Russell Groups apart from Nottingham. As you'll be doing Comp Sci, if you have any want to eventually specialise in Cyber Security then Royal Holloway is probably the best place to go.

The thing is that I wish I took A Level Maths in order to apply to the top tier unis. My main goal is to apply to the likes of ICL, Edinburgh ect.. for postgrad, but I am willing to know which university would be more beneficial for me in order to apply to top tier unis for postgrad. I would like to do AI at postgraduate, and I love the course structure from RHUL and Nottingham at undergraduate, but I was advised to not bother much about the course structure, but instead the reputation of the course from the uni (for undergraduate). Therefore, if I am to take this account I should only consider the RG unis, but I am very confused, because when comparing the modules from RHUL(Compsci with AI) and Queens University Belfast or Cardiff (Compsci), I prefer the one from RHUL, maybe because of the emphasis on AI. Yet it is less reputable.

I would not bother if in order to to Masters at a top uni I would have to go to a uni where I would not necessarily like the modules, because at the end my wish is to get access to the top tier.

Thanks

Tbh any of them will allow you to do that, out of the choices you listed I can't see too much of a difference in reputation. Some people from my graduating year at RHUL went on to do postgraduate at great unis including Cambridge, Imperial and UCL, at the latter 2 I know people who went on to do AI/ML related masters from the Comp Sci with AI BSc course at RHUL. I think the reputation between the two is barely anything, going purely on the rankings Notts is 19th and RHUL is 23rd so your 2 highest choices, its not all about rankings obviously but you won't be going wrong with which ever one of those 2 you pick and they'll both allow you too access top unis for your MSc, if you are happy with both courses you should start to look at other aspects like the location, city vs campus, costs etc.

Hope this helps
