Fit to Teach

Hi all, I have just completed a fit to teach questionnaire for my teaching degree starting in Sept. Do they actually stop people from teaching if they have certain illnesses?

As I understand it, people won't be stopped from teaching on the basis of the fit to teach questionnaire alone. If there's anything that is flagged as an issue, usually the next step is an occupational health assessment. Usually unis (and schools) just want to put the appropriate support in place to help people succeed.

However, as I understand it, if the uni feel that you couldn't keep students safe due to your health problems, you can be found "unfit to teach".
