Best thing to do is ramble on about the following of the characters:
Voice- pitch, pace, volume, tone, and accents
Physical- mannerisms, gestures, idiosyncrasy (repeatable mannerisms a character may have eg always bites their nails when nervous),posture/body language, facial expression.
What I used to do was just stated what the character did, for example, “I would make her walk down stage left with an angry face”. But what I was doing wrong was not going into a lot of detail or saying WHY (so In the exam I drew a massive why on my page and every time I saw it I explained why) so I improved my sentence by saying “I would make her walk downstage slowly with a tense body language contracting her muscles with an angry facial expression, I would do this by lifting her eyebrows, widening her eyes and gritting her teeth, this would imply to the audience that she is angry at another character as ... etc”
