Hello. I am having a severe dilemma with a level drama and my exam is on Friday. My teacher was off for five months of this year and we weren’t given a sub. When she left after the five months we got a new teacher but she hasn’t taught us the context properly. Anyone who can help with revision notes or any info I would be extremely grateful! Please I’m desperate. I need a B😭😭

Eduqus. I’m doing Hedda and Accidental Death. So any notes on either of those would be great regardless of the exam board. Also if anyone has any essay they’ve written so I can look at the structure, honestly I’d be eternally grateful; no one understands how desperate I am.

I’ve sat my drama gcse recently and I’m a performer myself so I’m hoping I could help you. I don’t have a clue about the play your studying, we did blood brothers for our gcse.

Best thing to do is ramble on about the following of the characters:
Voice- pitch, pace, volume, tone, and accents
Physical- mannerisms, gestures, idiosyncrasy (repeatable mannerisms a character may have eg always bites their nails when nervous),posture/body language, facial expression.

What I used to do was just stated what the character did, for example, “I would make her walk down stage left with an angry face”. But what I was doing wrong was not going into a lot of detail or saying WHY (so In the exam I drew a massive why on my page and every time I saw it I explained why) so I improved my sentence by saying “I would make her walk downstage slowly with a tense body language contracting her muscles with an angry facial expression, I would do this by lifting her eyebrows, widening her eyes and gritting her teeth, this would imply to the audience that she is angry at another character as ... etc”

I hope this helped

Also, ALWAYS TALK ABOUT THE EFFECT ON THW AUDIENCE IN LONG MARKERS TO ENTER THE HIGHER BANDS !! good luck I have all faith in you!
