There was a big story about a guy who used to go to my college who got a brain tumor and died on a poster outside the room I was going to go into for my exam 5 minutes later. It was extremely light reading before an exam, as you can imagine. But yeah, young people get cancer too, it's incredibly unfortunate either way though, but I think there's a slightly lower mortality rate maybe with teenagers than with pensioners etc due to them being slightly stronger, maybe I'm wrong though, I just don't think it's as common or tragic in deaths as it tends to be for adults so perhaps it's not as widely known?

My best friend died of cancer aged 14. She knew loads of childen who had it through hospitals and hospices and stuff. If you ever want to read her story, PM me and I'll send you the link to her website that tells her story. *tries not to cry whilst pressing submit!*

Haha, sorry I'm tired . I should have inserted some punctuation, but I saw the news he died as it was on a poster outside the room, he didn't die lying on the poster.

Not quite true, children have a higher incidence rate in some forms of Leukaemia but not overall.

@ Laura - Would it be too forward to ask what cancer? I'm a radiotherapy and oncology student and it really interests me.

Oh sorry. My bad.

Thanks for the clarification though.

I had Hodgkins Lympoma. I've been in remission for almost a year and a half and had chemo and radiotherapy. If I can help with anything for your studies or just out of interest, feel free to ask me - PM or on here.
