definition of "cute"

I've never properly understood what girls mean when they call guys "cute". I always thought cute was associated with things like puppies and babies and stuff, so how does it differ when you refer to a guy as cute?

Cute is often what I'll call a guy to his face when what I really mean is hot or fit. It's just a bit easier to say than "oh you're so hot!" haha.

When I say cute it means that they appear to have spent some time putting themselves together, and created a very appealing look. It can also mean you are an attractive and unique person, or that you have a bubbly and innocent personality.

I was sure "cute" meant that girls didn't like guys enough to get with them - but they liked them "as a friend"... :s-smilie:

On the flip-side: if I were to think of a girl as "cute" it would be that they are nice enough to get with - but in an innocent looking sort of way opposed she's an outright stunner.

Depends on the context, really. If you ask a girl out and she says either "you're cute..." or "you're lovely..." you know there is a "but" coming.

My now ex used to call me cute all the time when I did something that endeared me to her, usually something daft.

To me cute is something you think when a guy is really funny and you really like them, but your not actually attracted to them. Kinda like your brother.

You said you wanted a picture of a cat (implying it's something you would call cute). Then said my pic - in which I'm dressed as a cat - would do. Therfore I took that to mean I am -in some context - cute :p:

Sometimes I use cute in different ways thinking about it. Some guys are "cute" but I'm not attracted to them. Others are cute and I am. Some are "cute because of looks", others because of actions I would say :p:

But in general, I'd say not the "hottest" person, but not ugly. Also has to be a kind, gentle, funny personality :p:

I like "cute". To me it depicts a sensitive guy who comes out with funny stuff and isn't really a man's man but by no means gay either. Slightly naive as well... but in a good way :smile:
