GCSE Russian

I seem to have noticed the lack of GCSE Russian students on the Student Room.. I know you're out there somewhere!

It's not a common language found in schools, but there are still quite a few.

Russian writing exam is tomorrow; if any Russian students happen to be reading, good luck!
hey, yeh i searched gcse russian and there were barely any responses. I did edexcel too , how did you find the writing? I found it difficult! i barely knew what to write for the last question!

I thought it went quiet well actually. But I went over the word limits by around 100 words in the last question. How did you guys find the reading and listening.

I think all of my Russian exams went well and I know I went over on the last question in the writing exam too (I did 4a)

Reading and listening were pretty straightforward, but there were a few on the last question in the listening that got me.

But yeah, hoping for an A*!
On the celebrity question at the end, what did it ask you to write avout. I just described a celeb and talk about them and why I liked them etc etc.

Which one is GCSE standard- Im sure theres different levels- is number 1 too basic? I'm a beginner (ish) - I know the alphabet, numbers and basic greetings so far plus a few basic words and how to say your name, age, profession, family members etc, but I want to teach mself GCSE standard. Got any advice?

2 and 3 but mostly 3
Oh I did the GCSE edexcel russian paper this year. I was so annoyed because I did the question about a famous person and I had written a piece about roald dahl for classwork and when asking my russian teacher if it was neccessary to really learn that she said I could learn it if I wanted for my oral but otherwise it wasn't neccessary. Argh I could have guaranteed myself an A* had I done that!! If only I had learnt that essay word for word. Good luck with russian results tommorow! Russian is hard but I worked really hard for it, I will be so dissapointed if I get lower than an A. Any of you doing it for AS? I am so upset I can't do it because my new college doesn't teach it and five AS would be too much for me :frown:. I'm gonna forget all my russian, das vidanya ruski yusik
Yeah I used novya iskra 1,2,3. I used book 3 in year 10 and 11 though.
Privyet. I've done GCSE this year as weel and am carrying on for AS at least.
