What's it like then?

Essentially it's what you make of it.

The SU organises some great events - there's always something on every night at RH. You have Windsor and London if you're bored - but I haven't been tempted to abandon RH yet. They've recently opened Medicine, which is amazing.

It's called 'Medicine' because the founder, Thomas Holloway, made his fortune from selling quack medicines.

TW20s is a bar in Founders building. So called because of the first bit of the postcode (TW20 0EX).

Hmm yes, it is quite a small university, though there are still a few thousand students living on-campus!

As Royal Holloway is a campus university much of the social life is provided by the Student Union in the SU. There's a full entertainment programme - six nights a week. It also has the largest dance floor of any London college (has a capacity of 1250 students). Additionally there are three campus bars within close distance to each other. The Stumble Inn is usually packed and is a favourite of first years students.

In the local area there's the Happy Man & The Monkey's Forehead. They're great. You should avoid The Holly Tree, as it's an old peoples pub despite the attraction of the Heath Ledger lookalike barman (who is incidently a Royal Holloway student).

Additionally throughout the year some major social events take place or so I hear. Also your societies/clubs tend to host their own events.

hehe, i like the sound of rh even better now

i have no idea if i'll end up there or not, it really depends what grades I get. I just know i'd like to be at warwick, nottingham or Royal Holloway (in that order).
okay soooo

if u want info on the social scene on holoway ask me coz im in year 13 at strodes college which is also in egham

okay so egham itself is pretty dead, i live in ashford which is two train stops away n we laugh at egham coz we think its in the country, (well compared to ashford anyway) which is a min outside london.

egham is however next to the famous staines massive. this is an okay town quite chavy tho. theres like one rubbish club n a few okay bars. to be honest most people where im from go to kingston SUCH GOOD CLUBS or london anyway. which is not a problem.

i think im really lucky to have grown up in the area coz u got everything around u windor london heathrow for holidays lol. where i lives bout 15 mins drive from egham n we have a pretty good social life so all shud be good

anything else just ask!!!!!! xxxxxx

I thought he was Heath Ledger at first. Actually it wasn't just me thank you very much!! But thinking about it logically we decided that he was shorter than the real Heath Ledger and why should HL work behind the bar? He's very nice. Oh the memories. Sigh.

Think that means we'll have to make a little visit to the Holly Tree on the way back tommorow night.

I'm not an alcoholic by the way. I just like a good drink just like every other ordinary student.
oceana n the works r the best clubs in kingston def!!! xxxx
