I just been diagnosed with vitiligo, I have it on my penis and neck at the moment. I am 30 years old. Will it spread? Is there a cure? Also due to it being on my penis, it has affected my confidence.

No cure that I'm aware of.

I have it on my penis, hands and face. I'm very pale so the hands and face aren't usually noticeable, unless I've caught the sun slightly. The penis area is more noticeable, but no-one has ever particularly commented on it, so I've gotten over worrying about it.

Don't worry about it, no-one else will.

Sorry to hear that.

These are questions that you should take to your consultant or doctor.

No cure, it can't be passed on, for most people it's a cosmetic issue. There are some short-term treatments for the symptom. Do be mindful to protect yourself when in the sun. There's no real way to know if it will spread, I think there's an argument that if you've only been diagnosed at 30 then perhaps your symptoms will be mild.

For most people the key issues is confidence. You can talk to your doctor and there are related support groups. In short, if anyone would hold it against you then they were never worth having in your life anyway.
