I wanted to do biology, chemistry and physics at A-level but got a 5 in maths when I needed a 6. I was subsequently made to change courses; I tried to just get on with it despite the fact that I didn't like the courses that I had to do but, I'm now going into year 13 and I've had enough. I was first told in September of 2018 that I could not resit maths at my sixth form, I was then told (3 weeks before the exams) that I could have and should have been doing it a long time ago. The next resits are in November but the term would have started 6 weeks prior to that so I would have to wait another year to enrol back with my sixth form doing the subjects that I initially wanted. That would mean a 2-year wait and I would be 19 in year 12. I don't see any way out and a few months ago I honestly contemplated killing myself over something that would seem quite trivial to most people. I still think about it but my family would be upset if I did and I don't have the courage to do it.

Why do people feel like they can use you for money? As soon as people find out that you have fair amounts of money they always ask to borrow it, manipulate you so you lend some to them and they never pay it back. When you ask for it back they talk about how lucky you are to have money and make you feel bad.. so you say they don’t owe you anything.
Getting so fed up now.

I've applied to study at Cambridge and received a conditional offer, but seeing how my A-levels have been so far, I'm almost entirely sure I won't make it. The thing is, I've rejected all my other offers because I wasn't entirely sure about Uni anyway, but knowing I could've made it to Cambridge to study what I am passionate about (theology) and didn't still stings. A lot. A major part of my identity has been built upon my academic success from very early on. I feel like now I don't have that foundation anymore.

Firstly, from your message you can tell that this means a lot to you. But even so, do not ever consider taking your own life over something that could easily change by taking a different route. Why is it that this matter is so important to you? Is it because of a career choice you'd like to take? If it is, there are so many ways into getting a specific career by taking a different path.

Secondly, what are the a levels you're taking now? Are you enjoying them?

I avoid these threads too. You are not alone by any means.

But then some people just like arguing. Have you tried CHANELDIAMONDS positivity thread? That will get you in a wonderful mood every day, and it is very popular!

I'm glad people agree with me. I've been put off by TSR so much because my religion is continuously villainised and every time I post, I feel like someone is going to just bash my religion and me. And yes, politics is so controversial

Just say no and stick to it.
As the old saying goes "neither a lender nor a borrower be".
Plenty of people try their luck with me because they know I have access to nine credit cards.
Many people are highly opportunistic users, willing to freeload off those they wouldn't lend 5p to and resort to devious tactics like emotional blackmail to avoid repaying what they have borrowed.
Real friends will understand and you are better off with fake friends vanishing.

It is important to me because I wanted to go to Oxbridge but that seems impossible now. I'm currently taking English lit, economics and ancient history and I hate them.

Keep your head high and don't lose hope. Out of so many applications, they chose you and gave you a conditional offer based on your academic progress. It is one of the top universities in England and the fact they chose you means a lot.

Don't lose hope at all. If you've put in the work for your a levels, then you're good don't stress.

I feel absolutely useless.
I've still yet to do half my Alevels and I'm exhausted. Most of them have gone absolutely terrible and I'm not feeling too great about the upcoming ones either.
I really don't want to disappoint anyone.
I feel like the inferior sibling. I am literally worse than my brother in every aspect and I hate it, but I can't help compare the both of us, because everyone says we're so similar, but then why do I lack so much in areas such as academics, socialising, athletics and overall just genes...

Don't let what you have done and what you can't change influence your future performance. What's done is done, keep focussing and you may well be pleasantly surprised.

Same here I just try and infuse positivity if I can into these threads, but sometimes it just derails and I have to bow out.
