can someone please say how they did the onion pie chart question xxx i got 189 degrees as x i know it was 210 but dont understand how
You had to work out the total number/ frequency which you can do by multiplying the frequency density with the class width. Then you work out the number for below 60 and above 120. And you would get a number. Then you minus that from 720 which was the total frequency i got. Once you do this you can do multiple different methods but i used ratio. 360 Degrees : 720 onions so 1 degree : 2 onions. I got a value of 420 for the onions to be sent to the factory. And 420 / 2 is 210, so you get finally: 210 DEGREES : 420 onions
Unfortunately i have made the same mistake. We did all the hard part but we just forgot to add 37 degrees to it. Because there was a bit left from the top as well. But we only worked out the angle of the triangle
I disagree, you could have just used your protractor to work out the angle of x and that was 210. I did it differently and did 210/360 (equates to 7/12) multiplied by the total amount of onions (the total frequency), and because the pie chat represented the proportion of the onions and their uses, you get a value which equates to the actual value of x. Why would they throw away 4 marks for a question where you'd just have to measure the angle of x on the pie chart to get the same answer as you?
i didnt measure it cos i didnt think it would be to scale cos i thought '4 marks to measure an angle nahh'
Sciences. Dropping 1 and gonna do maths . Will stay an extra year if I do pass. Also grade boundaries were low becuz the questions were next to impossible.
me too mate, especially because last years papers were 100% easier. if they dont lower the boundaries im going to laugh and then write a very strongly toned email
I did last years too, paper 1 and 2 seemed quite easy, not as easy as our paper 1 though which was 70/80 for a 9. I predict the boundaries for paper 1 and 2 to be 68 or 69 out of 80 for each paper, as for paper 3 I can't predict it since I haven't seen the paper
