I've come up with a question i'd like to research: "What effect does the militarization of police in america have on the number of lethal and non lethal encounters with civilians, particularly of minorities"

But i have no idea how to link it to the specification, anyone have any ideas?

I'm making the assumption your exam board is AQA, though I think this may be across all the exam boards, but your title isn't relevant to the specification. Your title is a sociological investigation rather than geographical, and even if it was it presents challenges in primary data collection seen as its a transatlantic study, which is essential for the NEA. The focus is also on police brutality, this doesn't link itself to geography.

If you were to change the title to how has militarisation affected the lived experience of minority groups, then there could be a valid link to the Changing Places unit as it could look at how government policy has affected the lived experience of people. But bear in mind it would need to be at a location where you can actually undertake primary data collection, and your NEA must explicitly address lived experience in a way that suits the specification content.

The whole focus of your title is wrong, I'd recommend you look at the specification and choose a strand that interests you the most and form a question on the basis of it.
