I'm male and just turned sixteen, I'm 5'8 which is a bit short for my age but my dad is 6'2 so there's a good chance of me having a growth spurt soon. People at school have told me that lifting weights or not eating for a day can "stunt" my growth. Is this true? How would a person "stunt" their growth?

Sounds like crap...i suppose it depends how pedantic you are being, not eating for a day will slow your metabolism/cell division/growth stuff...but it shouldn't in any way limit your potential unless it was ongoing. It's like me lifting a can of juice and saying 'I'm stronger than before'.

Malnutrition. Eat well, sleep well, and you'll reach your genetic potential. Lifting weights doesn't do ****.
