Depends on the alternative courses
Depends on where you study it
Depends on what modules you take
Depends on whether you'd benefit from studying law over three years (or more if you're planning on doing a Master's)
etc

Law isn't always an intellectually challenging course; it just has a lot of material for one to cover

Im not entirely sure yet,if i do do it as a degree i want to be a solicitor (hopefully) but I know that there is a-lot of memorising things therefore I'm worried that it is probably the wrong degree for me.

All social sciences require a fair amount of memorisation. It's more of a question as to what sort of subject matter you'd like to memorise

You can become a solicitor without a law degree.
