Impulse with Vectors

A particle of mass 3 kg is moving with velocity -3i + 2j when it receives an impulse of 10 Ns in the direction i + j.
Find the velocity of the particle after the impulse.

Really confused...
I know I=m(v-u), but how do you apply it?

They're vector quantities. What must the impulse vector be if its of magnitude 10 in the i+j direction?? Figure it out first. Then just plug things into the formula, having v as unknown. Arrange for it.

Got it now thanks drew a vector triangle
