what could be improvements for the Sediment Long Axis & the Sediment Roundness?

I think you're asking for method evaluations so this is what I would say:

Long axis only looks at length, sediment may vary in terms of length and width so volume may be more representative. Cannot measure smaller sediment so grain size cards will need to be used.

Sediment roundness is a subjective scale, so results differ from individual to individual. May be better to use different scales like Cailleux which reduce subjectivity by using quantitative R values.

You could bring up apparatus error and how it could reduce the accuracy of your measurements especially for smaller sediments.
