Hi guys!

I'm in the process of creating a free comprehensive guide to getting an A* in the programming project for H446.

It currently includes:
- A breakdown of how the project is structured
- What you need to do get an A* in each section
- Answers to frequently asked questions
- An example project
- A step-by-step tutorial/guide on how to use the PyQt5 GUI toolkit for Python.

I was wondering if anyone would like something that I've missed to be added to this list.

Thanks,

Making a guide will be really hard as projects can greatly differ, I would suggest giving a list of possible projects as many people struggle with coming up with an initial idea.

There's something similar to this already for AQA - obviously there are going to be differences between the exam boards, but I would think most of this is also relevant: https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/A-leve...ctical_Project

And OCR themselves have already published some exemplar projects: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=si...ience+exemplar

I hear you loud and clear! I agree that projects can differ greatly in nature, but hopefully some of the approaches (i.e. object-oriented programming, persistent data storage, etc) can be applied to a number of different projects. The guide should give students a good foundation to work with!

Thanks for the heads-up! The AQA guide looks good but does contain some differences. OCR only have about 3 exemplars, 2 of which are locked!

They certainly have more than that - did you click the link I posted? It looks like they have at least one project for each of the main programming languages.

For the current H446 specification, I believe there are only three, unless I am very much mistaken.
