IB Subjects for studying Archaeology/Marine Biology?

I'm currently a student in IB1 taking HL Biology, HL Chemistry, HL Latin, SL English Literature and Performance, SL Maths and SL History but I'm having some doubts regarding subjects and I don't know what to do :frown:

I got good grades at GCSE maths but I'm struggling with the standard IB course so idk whether I should drop to studies? Very few unis require it for the courses I want to do but I don't want to restrict my opportunities hnghhhhh

Also, I've been predicted a 5 in Chemistry but I need at least 666 at HL to do Archaeology (Marine Bio tends to be similar) so I don't know if I should switch to SL Chem and do HL History (which I'm predicted a 6-7 in) I know that most Marine Bio courses require 2 HL sciences so I'm scared that will restrict my options, but the unis I'm looking at have these entry grades and they feel "right" to me so I'm working towards that as a goal.

I'm also worried that if I do change now it's going to be too late? I know that I'm not taking on any new subjects but I'm scared of being rejected/being overwhelmed with catchup stuff

Het there, I would recommend you stay with HL Chem, as it is usually required for your major/s. Changing from HL to SL mid-program is entirely possible (depending on your school's requirements), but moving to a different subject altogether is problematic.

By way of introduction, I am a former DP English Lit and ToK teacher, university counselor, MYP/DP Coordinator and principal of IB schools. I now work full time to support students such as yourself, with the DP, essay writing and university counseling.

I'm in IBY1 and im taking HL biology , geography and business management and SL math AI , eng and Spanish and I'm really interested into marine biology , but i'm not sure if my subject will meet the requirement for marine biology . Can anyone please advice me.
