In a section of my assignment, I have to write how the evidence I collected in a simulated crime scene is used to support my conclusions, from techniques used in forensic labs. For example, I collected blood samples. I know that first you would use the phenolphthalein test to see if it indicated positive for blood. I also did a similar test on a drug sample, which was also positive, I have to write that these tests are only indications and do not prove that they are in fact blood and a drug. So what method is carried out in the forensic lab to actually prove these substances, (before they are tested for DNA, for example, with the blood. )
