Hey,

I’m doing AQA Geography next year and not sure which textbook to buy.

The three I’m looking at:
1) AQA Geography A Level & AS Physical (and the human one) Geography Student Book https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/01983665..._MgodDbQQR17CG

2) AQA A-level Geography Fourth Edition https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/14718586..._viodDbHJ30954

3) A-Level Geography: AQA Year 1 & 2 Complete Revision & Practice (CGP A-Level Geography) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/17829464..._6iodDb3304FMY

Sorry couldn’t hyperlink these because I’m on my phone

I've used both the Hodder and Oxford books, and personally prefer the Hodder textbook, it's far better value for money than the Oxford and I much prefer the layout and structure of the textbook. I'd also recommend buying the CGP revision guide, which is excellent, though in some parts lacks details - especially in the human topics - so it's best to use a combination of the two.

Thanks! By the way, have you ever used the notes from PhysicsMathsTutor?

Yes, but for most topics they're next to useless. The physical notes are far too brief, and the 'detailed' human notes appear to be heavily summarised notes from the Hodder book. I could see their value in terms of quick revision, but I wouldn't use them as a base.

Just finished a level geography and I highly recommend the Hodder for the bulk of notes although it can go into too much detail on some things. Do not rely on the CGP revision guide also. It has some good questions and some aspects are good but it really doesn't go into depth. It can be a useful starting point for revision so I still recommend having it.
