I've failed literally all of my Yr 10 end of years, and I'm a really slow note taker and aI procrastinate a lot. What should I do?
Condense your notes and find a way to be motivated?
Stop procrastinating and put in the hard work, you’ve got 1 year and then you’ll be free for a couple of months before a levels if you choose to do them. I’m sure you know what you need to do, no one can do it for you. You’ve got to work hard to get the results you want.
Stop taking notes as revision and do practice questions instead. Set realistic goals (e.g. do 4 sets of half an hour of revision every weekday in the holidays) and really apply yourself during that time.
4 really good revision methods
- do, mark and improve practice questions
- write or plan practice essays
- teach someone else (even your pet rock, if no one else is available!) The content, as it will force you to simplify it and learn it to a standard when you can teach it.
- give yourself 2 minutes to write down everything you know about a topic (neither full sentences or neatness not) and then use the textbook to add all the info that you didn't get in a different colour.
