Or would this be a deal-breaker? Should I pretend to like them and force them down to seem more normal?

Would it not seem offensive though if I'm dating a girl and she offers me some cake she made but I say I don't like cake? Or what if we went for afternoon tea somewhere and I didn't like anything?

Not a dealbreaker at all.
No you should say you dont like or you dont have a sweet tooth.

People look at other factors before that.

A more common one is vegetarian and meat eater.
Doesnt have to be a dealbreaker.

Smoker and non smoker.
Heavy drinker and tee total.
Recreational drugs and not.

Other factors are far more important.
