    In relation to attachment there are positive correlations between lack
    of attachment and adult personalities. Adults who had experienced
    maternal deprivation tended to develop into either:

    a) compulsive care givers
    b) compulsive independents

    ...and those who had a secure and loving attachment during the critical
    period often developed into:

    a) compulsive care givers
    b) compulsive independents
