Which tenses do we have to include in our writing for an A or A* grade?
Is it basically all of them?
    Which ones?

I got A* in GCSE, and I remember being told to use imperfect past, perfect past, present, conditional and future in the writing exam.
I know these are not tenses, but try to include reflexive verbs and maybe slot in a cheeky subjunctive in there too. It doesn't have to be amazing, just a pre-learnt sentence which will boost marks.

Well for AQA, you certainly need all three tenses in each of the two letters you have to write - to get more than 4/6 for range, to get a decent accuracy mark, and for most communication points as the prompts will ask you to describe events in all three tenses.

You also need to give opinions and justifications, for the higher marks.

I'm sure this will apply to Edexcel too, as my friend does it and uses the same textbook as me, and has been taught pretty much the same as me so it will apply.
