George Eliot accommodation at Royal Holloway question? Watch

Hi all,

I have been offered accommodation at RHUL for my 2nd year at George Eliot. However, it says that access to the room would be "through communal areas including the kitchen".

Does anyone have any knowledge from living in George Eliot on what this means? I don't really mind this at all, but out of interest does this indicate my room is a bit different from the others, or are all rooms accessed in this way in George Eliot?

Thank you so much!

We literally went there last week for an Open Day so I can possibly help with this.... George Elliot are town house type accommodation, they have four rooms upstairs with two bathrooms (all on one floor) but downstairs is a large bedroom with gorgeous (almost double) shower en suite. GE is advertised as shared bathroom so I asked when we came out why there was a random room at the end of the kitchen. I was advised its an accessibility room, and if they don't require it for that need then it goes to an able bodied student next. I thought the room was lovely, albeit next to the kitchen, but if that doesn't bother you then go for it! And good luck!

They also have sensory sensors like vibrating pads under the pillow etc for sensory disabilities, if you don't require these, they are just deactivated.

Hi there!

There are some rooms in George Eliot that are on the ground floor, but without knowing your exact room offer I'm afraid I can't confirm for certain what room type you have. I recommend you give our Student Services team a call - they're really friendly and would be able to work out what type of room this is! Their phone number is 01784276641, and their email is [email protected].

Let us know if you have any further questions!
