i have no idea

might it be a council tax exemption certificate? a medical certificate for exemption for prescription fees/dentists/opticians? a certificate proving you are a student so they can pay a loan?

what is it about? there are a million and one things you can probably get a student certificate for.

I basically want to know what a student certificate is, because apparently i need one to send a copy to the council for something...
Any ideas of what it is and how i'd get one?

AFAIK, it's a form which confirms your student status and is used for tax purposes.

if you ask your university admin office, they should beable to fill one in for you so you can send it to the council. they stamp it with the university crest at the office as well.

I think it's the one you got sent from UCAS once you got your A-level results and the letter confirmed the course and place you were going to university. That's the letter that banks kept asking me for anyway...It's the only form which proved I was a student.

No it's not - you get it from your University to confirm you are a CURRENT student (aka a Confirmation of Status Letter).

The UCAS letter does not prove that you are actually a student, only that you were awarded a place somewhere.
