Can I still get student finance on a sandwich year on placement

Basically I have applied to do an industrial placement at a few companies. My degree at the moment doesn’t contain a sandwich or placement year. How do I go about taking a placement year with my university and get the placement year student finance? Or is it the case that if I take a year out to do a placement or a sandwich year i won’t have access to the student finance people on placement get because it’s not in my course title

Does your uni offer the same course with a placement year? If so, you'd just swap to that.

I'm actually curious to the answer to this as well.

Might have a better response if you created a thread in Ask SFE England to get an official response on whether or not we receive a maintenance loan during the sandwich year.
