I want to study dentistry at King's but my UCAT is 637.5 band 2. I got all 9s at at GCSE so would that mean there is still a chance that I could get an interview?
If it makes you feel any better, I got 12 A* but a low ucat of 633 band 1. I’m applying for medicine. Pray for me 😂

Hey guys! I really want to apply to medicine at Kings, and need advice if I should apply, given that I have AAA predictions, 680 score in UCAT, 7A* and 2* at IGCSE. i know how competitive it is, so please answer this questions if you have time.

Thank you!
You need to check if they would be OK with your A level predictions as many schools that offer A*AA expect that as a prediction or they will automatically reject the application.
Other than that, your stats should be fine

hey guys, hope everyone’s applications are going well!I’ve got 630 Band 1 in UCAT which is definitely lower than expected, messed up the VR section which dragged me down. So annoyeddddI’ve already got a 2:1 in a pharmacy degree from Nottingham and am currently working in a hospital for a year about to become a qualified pharmacist.Do I still have a chance with kings and other med schools in general with my low ucat??

Wait and see the official averages which come out in October shortly before the application deadline but if I were you I probably wouldn't risk it unless your other 3 choices are very safe. (I'm a grad on the A100 at KCL)

KCL offers tend to be A*AA so your predictions might not make the cut

Hi all
Can you please advice. My daughter got 627 in her UCAT and received her final predicted grades A*A*A. Her GCSE grades are 9A* (made up of 5 grades of 9 and 4 grades of 8) and 1A (grade 7). She get School bursary and free meals due our income being low ( is this seen as WP at KCL?). Is it risky to apply for KCL?
If not any suggestion?. She is preparing for BMAT in 30th of October.

Kings have 10% of their assessment score for contextual factors. Even with this, the lowest UKCAT to get an interview in recent years (that I am aware of) is 640

Hi,

I am a resit applicant. I have achieved AAB in Biology, Chemistry and Maths respectively. I am predicted an A* in maths and my UKCAT is 678 avg band 2. For GCSES, I achieved 5A*'s 4As 1B. Should I apply to Kings considering my stats? Would I get an interview?

You may be a bit borderline. You get 20% for GCSEs, 2.5% for SJT, meaning you need about 60% of the available points for UCAT. Kings use their own deciles, I think, which means they are likely to be higher than the Pearson Vue ones (60% is currently around 650, but if you consider the average UKCAT for Kings was 725 in 2017 and 707 in 2018 (Pearson Vue averages 635 and 621.25 those years) you may be on the borderline), so depends how much you like it and how safe your other oprions are

Thank you for the information. I'm thinking of Nottingham, Leicester, and UEA as my other options. As a resit applicant, my priority is getting an offer so I don't think I will be risking it.

I know these posts get annoying, but I need (albeit slightly sugar coated) answer.
These are my stats
GCSE's - 3 A*s, 7 As and a B.
A-levels (achieved) - AABB + A in EPQ, I am resitting biology and am predicted an A* & my reference mentions some extenuating circumstances regarding why I need to resit.
Ucat - Very low unfornately, 662.5.
Any chance (With good personal statement and a very good reference) I could get an interview?

Not sure how to sugar coat it.....
3A*s gets 0% on King's GCSE scoring system. SJT would get 5% for B1, 2.5% for B2, nothing for less.
Kings uses its own deciles for UCAT scoring and the average suggessful UCAT score was 725 in 2017 and 707 in 2018, so you will probably be around 4th decile (or maybe less) for their applicants, so maybe a bit under half of the 45% left for UCAT.
So probably not, is the answer, I'm afraid (but lots of places you can apply, so that is the good news!)

For school leavers, Kings use SJT as 5% or their assessment process, with 5% for B1, 2.5% for B2 and nothing for anything else
