    I'm looking for a web host to upload my site to via FTP.
    Anyone recommend any good hosts? I need 250Mb space minimum, and there will be at least 100 pages. Do I need 100 subdomains for this? (e.g.www.mysite.com/pagename). I will be buying a domain name too.

    No you don't need 100 sub domains.
    Below are examples of sub domains:
    forum.mysite.com
    Forum is the sub domain

    subdomain.mysite.com
    etc...

    The link you pasted was a folder
    www.mysite.com/pagename

    where pagename is the name of the folder

    Ah ok thanks. So for every mysite.com/pagename I need a new folder, or just a new file?

    web_directory
    -index
    -page2
    -page3
    -directory1
    --page4
    --page5
    --directory2
    ---page6

    index = mysite.com/index (also just mysite.com)
    page2 = mysite.com/page2
    page3 = mysite.com/page3
    page4 = mysite.com/directory1/page4
    page5 = mysite.com/directory1/page5
    page6 = mysite.com/directory1/directory2/page6

    Domain = http://samryan.co.uk
    File = http://samryan.co.uk/file.html
    Folder = http://samryan.co.uk/folder/

    Using .htaccess you can also create the "illusion" that something is a folder, when infact it isn't, but that's beyond what you need to know

    Generally you shouldn't find any good host now that limits the amount of subdomains you can have, if you do you might want to check reviews of them, because it would seem a bit odd...

    This is why you should never post links to a blog where you completely undermine your own authority on knowing anything about domains:

    oops?
    Haha,
    Wait, so i can't tell somebody what a domain is ,if in my opinion, i am not making the amount of money i could be on reselling?

    Seriously, grow up. That blog post has no relevance to my knowledge on domains, their value and how they function, it simply references to the fact I'm making minimal profit whereas i could have made so much more.

    For a .uk domains; 123-reg.co.uk
    For a .com; namecheap.com

    For website hosting I'd recommend eoshosting.com
    That's who hosts my personal site and blog. Be careful of hosts who oversell (hundreds of GB of space and bandwidth for a few pence).

    You can get hosting at www.mottyweb.com and for domain names i personally use www.tosdomains.net

    Comes with a very easy to use control panel, FTP access etc. The domain names at tosdomains are cheap and also they accept Paypal.

    I sell website hosting through my site www.mottyweb.com and for domain names i personally use www.tosdomains.net

    Comes with a very easy to use control panel, FTP access etc. The smallest plan (Bronze - £3 a month) will quite easily be enough for you. Feel free to send me a message if you'd like any more information.

    Apparently you're not allowed to advertise a web host you own, so yeah, just recommend others or you get banned / warned
