Hi, first of all this is my first time in this website and i think it is very helpful to all of us who do not know much about qualifications.

So here is my case. I am 23 years old european national looking to get my grades up and improve my career. My current qualifications are equivalent to the GCSE and am interested in taking a BTEC in IT, both levels.

I acknowledge that a btec level 2 is equivalent to some GCSE (2 if im not wrong). However, I can't find which are those GCSEs, either if they're English and maths or computing and maths.

My concern is because in the future i would like to go to uni if it is possible. But I'm worried that i could be asked to take a gcse in English or do an ielts.

So in summary, if I get these level 2 and 3 qualifications would they be enough to go to uni or would they make me take other courses.

Many thanks in advance.

A L2 BTEC is 'equivalent to GCSEs' only for progression to a L2 in the same subject. Therefore if you have a L2 in ICT, you can go on to do a L3 in ICT. However, it does not replace or remove the need to have a gCSE in Maths and / or English.
To do a L3 BTEC in ICT at a local college, you will still need to have Maths and English GCSEs.
Once you complete the L3 you can go to University, but most willl also require GCSe in Maths and English.
The best bet is to look at some University websites now to find a course you want to do and read the full entry requirements.
