I think she should just spend a year with a court-appointed licker following her round, licking absolutely every single thing before she eats it.

Do you know why he did that? Because when he was a toddler he got a brand new red shiny toy car on Christmas Day. I went and sat in it before him. There is a pic of five year old me in the car and two year old him having an absolute paddy.

My chestnuts have not been safe since

Here is the law.

It is only an offence if serious bodily harm is probable. It does not seem to be the case here.
I like how you looked it up and made an intelligent point got +1 rep, then the next 2 make weak puns and they get +19 rep between them....

Because the media love to emphasise max sentences to make it look dramatic and they rely on the fact that people either cant read, dont read or are unable to comprehend news stories. The law is a good one. She hasnt been tried yet. The max sentence is meant to cover someone who did mass food poisonings intending to injure people. Not her situation and she will end up getting a much more appropriate sentence.

Regardless of whether she has been sentenced, why would anyone think this is a just sentence for someone who licked some ice cream in a supermarket? yeesh.
