Cardiff intercalation

Cardiff don’t let you intercalate until after 3rd year. Why is this? Just curious. Other universities let you intercalate after 2 years of studying medicine. If a student wanted to intercalate at a different university which allows it, after 2 years, would Cardiff allow that?

Hi,

Thanks for your message

In terms of studying an intercalated degree in the School of Medicine at Cardiff University, you may find the following webpage useful. This should answer your questions on intercalation at other UK institutions. Alternatively you may want to contact Medicine Intercalation.

One of our student ambassadors has just finished his intercalated year at our School of Medicine, so it may be valuable to talk to him too.

I hope this helps?

Sophie
Does Cardiff let anyone studying medicine to intercalate? Some medical schools only allow those in the top of their year..

Unfortunately not. Cardiff only allows a small number of medical students intercalate and it is dependent on where you rank in your year.
