Question for cheaters: Why did you do it?

Honestly, I'm not expecting many replies because of the subject matter, but if there's any chance of anyone on this forum who has cheated on a previous partner - or has been close to cheating - why did you do it, or almost do it?

Is it a case of the "opportunity just came up" and it was too tempting? I doubt that most plan to cheat, unless really unhappy with their relationship. But I'm just curious about what goes on in the mind of someone who decides to do it.

Do you feel bad about it? Do you think about it often? Would you do it again?

But if I had to imagine the situation it would be because of jealousy.

Some people cheat because they can. They can be charming high earners or working away from home.

Or because they are lazy and an attractive woman is thrown into his path. He thinks “why not?”
