Deciding between Cambridge and Durham

I'd like to study engineering at university next year, but I'm struggling to decide between cambridge and durham. My family is trying to convince me that cambridge has such a better reputation and will allow me to get a much better job, but I don't think the statistics I've read reflect this. Durham is much easier to get into, and I think I'll have much more fun there. It also allows me to drop further maths to just an AS level (something I really want to do) as Cambridge professors said I can't make a competitive application without A2 FM. Ontop of this all the current students I spoke to said they got an offer based on 4 A-levels, A*A*AA with A* in further maths (Something I'm not sure I can do). Isn't it just better to go to durham, get in, have more fun and come out with an equally good degree?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Btw I'm currently studying A level maths, physics, computer science and further maths, going into year 13.
Yeh thats exactly what ive done for physics. I couldnt be bothered with all the stuff that is needed to get into oxbridge, like sending of the personal statement really early, and going for an interview. It was much less of a hassle applying for durham, and its pretty much the same in terms of how good the uni is

Sounds like you should go for Durham, then. What kind of engineering discipline are you applying for?

It's a common first 2 years and then you specialise in the 3rd (same as Cambridge)I also noticed I wrote the question like I'd already made my mind up 😂Thanks.
If you’re willing to do further maths at A2, then apply to both, but if you think it will hinder your ability in your other subjects, I’d say go for Durham. Of cause Cambridge is more prestigious but the difference is minuscule and employers won’t care as long as you get a good degree.
