I am 23 and I am pretty sure that I have Dyscalculia. They always said in school that I have it but I have never actually been tested, so I have nothing on paper to say that I suffer with this learning disability. I have always struggled with maths, and was never able to pass my GCSE at school. I had to revise just to get an E. I managed to pass my Level 1 Functional Skills Maths at college, but failed my Level 2. I have just been accepted onto a Level 3 Business Admin Apprenticeship, and I have to retake Functional Skills Maths Level 2. I have been told that if I don’t pass it I won’t be able to get my business admin qualification. I find this really unfair as my actual job involves no maths whatsoever. I feel like I’m being penalised and because of my disability I can’t do the career that I want to do. If I get tested and get it on paper that I have dyscalculia will it help me to get the qualification? I really don’t know what to do I’m at my wits end because I know I won’t be able to pass it as I am not mentally capable. Advice please?

It will get the disability recognised and they will have to make reasonable adjustments. You could be given extra time and some special teaching support.
Business admin wll almost certainly have you needing to know maths.

Not sure if you could get a grant for the above tutorials?
