I’m leaving uni after first year to do a different course at college. SAAS rejected me for tuition fees for my new course (still getting the loan), and I’m stuck. They said it’s because I got the equivalent of an HNC for my year at uni. So basically I’m being punished for passing! If I would have known this I wouldn’t have turned up to my exams. I knew I wouldn’t get the bursary but I didn’t know anything about the fees. Is there anything I can do? Tell my uni I don’t want my qualification lol? Cause I’ll have to drop out of this new course, I just can’t pay these fees

Going by what you've said, I think it's unlikely you'll get SAAS funding for your new course. Have you researched scholarships etc at your new uni? Most unis have some bursaries and some are often undersubscribed so you'd have a decent chance of getting them. If you can't find much on the website, get in touch with the uni - they might have access to some kind of fund for this type of thing. Good luck!
