eggless custard recipes

So im interested in making eggless custards as part of creme brulee and pastry recipes. the reason for eggless is because egg yolks and eggs in general smell horrible and is hard to eliminate the odor of raw eggs.

I know instant custard powder uses cornflour as the thickening agent, although I have heard that sweet potato and flax(lin)seed can also be used to thicken things (I want to avoid agar (chinagrass) or carageenan as they are quite pricy).


So, does anyone have experience making eggless custards? If so, feel free to share your tips and recipes.
