i am currently 22 and there is a guy i've had feelings for since school. We were best friends and ended up going to prom together where we realised we both liked each other. We stopped talking once school finished as we were going to separate colleges but the whole time i would still think of him. I genuinely feel like we were soulmates.

Cut to now, about 6 months ago we matched on tinder and he asked me for drinks. I had just been on a date with someone else so i said no as I wanted to give this new guy a chance and didn't want to dwell on old times. Well things with the new guy didnt work out and about a month ago i decided to message this guy i've liked for years and ask how he was but he ignored me. Turns out he has a girlfriend now. He still likes all my photos and watches all my stories on instagram and i still can't stop thinking about him. it all feels like a case of bad timing and i want to move on but i just can't stop thinking about what would have happened if i had gone on a date with him

Well, you gave up your chance on him for another guy and now you need to face the consequences.

You need to move on.

Sounds like you missed your chance. Why didn't you date in the beginning?

It sounds like he's the one that got away, sadly. You missed your chance, and he moved on. No reason for him not to after you turned him down.

From now on, don't check his social media. You need to distance yourself from him in order to get over him.
