I’m hoping to join inner temple and will be trying for a scholarship next month. Just membership help with the scholarship? As they will see they’re my first choice and that I’m not just intending to join for a membership

They don't look at whether you're already a member or not when considering scholarship awards. I didn't join inner until after they gave me a scholarship. Inner interview everyone who complete the form properly. Good luck

Membership is not compulsory for GDL or BPTC scholarships and does not increase your chances of getting a scholarship as they are all merit based.

Joining won't help in the slightest, and is actually a bad idea, because if you don't get a scholarship and end up reapplying in a different year, you will be able to apply to a different Inn, but only if you haven't already joined one.
