Hello,
I'm not sure if anyone could help me with this but I am writing some essays for a couple of competitions over the summer and just wondering if you have to reference for competition entries?
Thanks

It’s typically considered good to footnote and at the very least have a bibliography. Newnham publishes some advice for essay competitions which you may find useful: https://www.newn.cam.ac.uk/wp-conten...sts-2019-1.pdf
Hope this helps; best of luck!

I don't know what subject you're thinking of doing but Newnham post the winning essays so you can get an idea of what Oxbridge colleges are looking for. There are essays for English, Philosophy, NatSci, MML, CompSci, Engineering, History and Music. I know it helped me when I was planning on doing an English essay. https://www.newn.cam.ac.uk/admission...-essay-prizes/

Look at example of the winners of the competition you’re entering.
References and bibliography are very good and present you as logical and thorough. Best to include them.
Best of luck x
