For my a level English literature coursework I need to write a comparative essay on two novels. Has anyone studied any novels that they found particularly interesting or that have a lot of ideas and language to analyse in an essay as I have no idea where to start?

It really depends what you're interested in. Any books you particularly enjoy?
If you want some general recommendations with themes I think link both:
Huckleberry Finn and Heart of Darkness (narratology, race, rivers)
Stoner and Ethan Frome (marriage, work. stoicism)
Atonement and East of Eden (I haven't finished East of Eden yet but it seems to have similar themes of family and maturing and sin/trespass to Atonement.)
Hope this helps.

Hi, At my school we have to do dystopian literature for our coursework, and we do the handmaids tale and 1984. I haven’t started the coursework yet but I’ve read both of the texts and find them really interesting, especially if you enjoy politics, dystopia and how the world could possibly be in the future.
