Did anyone do paper 42 and 62 for 9709 CIE maths? What is the expected threshold for A? I have done AS and A Level separately.

I think A is around 205-212. And A* is about 228/250 +/-2, judging from the straightforward 42 and a bit tricky 62. But CIE is unpredictable so A can go above 210 with A* being above 230. I did the whole A-level maths.

I have got 105 in AS Level last year and this year I am expecting:
Statistics: 49 in best case or 48 in worst case.
Pure: 60 in best case or 58 in worst case.

Is it possible for me to get an overall A?

I think in worst case, you got 211, so it can still be an A. CIE usually awards As to 30% of the cohort so it still depends on how others performed. IMO A should be less than 212. So don’t worry!

I have done full a level this year and the mechanic's paper was really really easy so I think the A will be like 45 - 43 and statistics was bloody hell but most of my friends said it wasn't too bad so i guess the A would be maybe 42 - 40

I'm expecting:
Pure 1 - 70/75
Pure 3 - 60/75
Mechanics - 50/50
Statistics - 30/50 [i seriously ****ed up in that paper]

Yes, I found Stats quite different from past years especially the questions on data analysis ( the arrangement I didn’t notice ), and some explanations on mean/median/mode. 40 is reasonable for A I guess. I’m expecting 45-47.

It was OK in general, tho I lost at least 3 marks, (silly mistakes). But 32 is usually low in terms of GBs.

I am worried because of the march 2019 threshold. It was 219 for A and thats way too high.
